Refrigerator Filter: Brand vs. Generic

!±8± Refrigerator Filter: Brand vs. Generic

Most refrigerator water filters have a generic counterpart. The question many are asking: "The generic brand products as good as the filter?" The answer to this question is yes and no. It would be out on the product. However, the filters are as effective as more generic brand filters, but some do not offer the same quality.

What to Look For

The main thing that you want the attention when you are paying for the filter refrigerator removal of pollutants, bothand how the system removes chlorine, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), heavy metals (lead and mercury), cysts, turbidity and particles. These contaminants are the primary pollutants that any effective system of filtration with activated carbon to remove, if it is a fridge, filters or other water filtration products.

Important Note: When the manufacturer of the refrigerator water filter is not the manufacturer of the refrigerator, do not have the right to make statementsElimination of impurities, if the filters are in your refrigerator.

Admission

Probably the best way to know if the filter you have, indeed, is the certification of NSF. NSF sets standards in every product must meet to obtain certification. The products are tested by a separate third party in order to meet these standards.

This does not mean that the filters are NSF certified will not be effective to say. None of the generic filters are NSFcertificate, but because they have the same specifications of the products are brand-name counterparts, are usually just as effective.
